PROCLAMATION NO. 374
AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 128 DATED MAY 4, 1949, BY TRANSFERRING JOSE ABAD SANTOS DAY FROM MAY 15 TO FEBRUARY 19 OF EVERY YEAR
WHEREAS, the 15th day of May of every year was declared as Jose Abad Santos Day under Proclamation No. 128 dated May 4, 1949;
WHEREAS, the schools, public and private, have not been able to take active participation in the celebration of the day because it falls within the period for the summer Vacation; and
WHEREAS, Jose Abad Santos was born on the 19th day of February;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ramon Magsaysay, President of the Philippines, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 128 dated May 4, 1949, by transferring Jose Abad Santos Day from May 15 to February 19 of every year.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 26th day of December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-six, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the eleventh.
