PROCLAMATION NO. 666

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 17 TO 23 OF EVERY YEAR AS SOCIO-ECONOMIC PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT WEEK AND DECEMBER 23 OF EVERY YEAR AS NEDA DAY

WHEREAS, socio-economic planning and development in the Philippines has continuously been observed and sustained since December 23, 1935, when Commonwealth Act No. 2 was enacted creating the National Economic Council, the forerunner agency of the National Economic and Development Authority;

WHEREAS, it is but proper, fitting and appropriate to reaffirm the Government’s commitment to socio-economic planning and development and to celebrate every year the foundation day of NEDA;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from December 17 to 23 of every year as Socio-Economic Planning and Development Week under the auspices of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and the Regional Development Councils; and December 23 of every year as NEDA Day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
