Today at 11:00 a.m., President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the Executive Secretary and other government officials at the Private Office in Malacañan Palace.

The afternoon marked the beginning of the President’s activities for the two-day state visit of the Honorable Barack Obama, President of the United States of America, to the Philippines.

At 2:10 p.m., President Aquino welcomed President Obama at the Malacañan Palace grounds, where the latter is accorded with arrival honors upon his entrance.

At 2:25 p.m., President Aquino led President Obama at the Reception Hall inside the Malacañan Palace to sign the official Palace Guestbook.

At 2:35 p.m., President Aquino and President Obama presided over the expanded bilateral meeting between the Philippines and the U.S. at the Aguinaldo State Dining Room of the Malacañan Palace.

At 3:30 p.m., President Aquino and President Obama each had their own private time before their joint press conference 15 minutes later.

At 3:45 p.m., President Aquino and President Obama held a joint press conference in front of the members of local and foreign media at the President’s Hall of the Malacañan Palace.

At 7:00 p.m., President Aquino met President Obama at the Main Lobby of the Malacañan Palace, prior to the state dinner in honor of the visiting U.S. president.

At 7:15 p.m., President Aquino hosted a state dinner in honor of President Obama at the Rizal Hall of the Malacañan Palace. During his toast, President Aquino conferred the Order of Sikatuna—with a rank of Raja—upon the visiting U.S. head of state.
