PROCLAMATION NO. 702

DECLARING AUGUST 9, 1970, AS MELCHOR DAY IN
IBAJAY, AKLAN

WHEREAS, Sunday, August 9, 1970, marks the anniversary of the birth of the late Colonel Alejandro Melchor, Sr., outstanding inventor and man of science and technology; and

WHEREAS, the people of Ibajay, Aklan, his birth place, should be given full opportunity to celebrate his birthday with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Sunday, August 9, 1970, as Melchor Day in Ibajay, Aklan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy.
