PROCLAMATION NO. 1074

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1972, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE.

WHEREAS, Wednesday, September 13, 1972, marks the anniversary of the Battle of Pulang Lupa, one of the major battles in the Filipino struggle for freedom and self-determination; and

WHEREAS, for the people of Marinduque where the battle took place, the historical event is one of great significance and occupies a prominent place in the history of the province;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Wednesday, September 13, 1972, as a special public holiday in the province of Marinduque.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 7th day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-two.
