PROCLAMATION NO. 1987
DECLARING WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 1980, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN TANAUAN, BATANGAS.
WHEREAS, the twenty-third of July marks the 116th birth anniversary of the late Apolinario Mabini of Tanauan, Batangas, one of the outstanding heroes in our country’s struggle for freedom and democracy; and
WHEREAS, in recognition, the outstanding services of the late Apolinario Mabini, it is most fitting and proper to give the people of Tanauan, Batangas full opportunity to celebrate his natal day with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare July 23, 1980, as a special public holiday in Tanauan, Batangas.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 10th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty.
