PROCLAMATION NO. 2093
DECLARING WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, 1981, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN MANILA.
WHEREAS, every year the City of Manila celebrates June 24, as “Araw ng Maynila”, marking the founding of the city as the premier Christian City of Asia; and
WHEREAS, the residents of Manila, conscious of the historical and cultural significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday, June 24, 1981, as a special non-working public holiday in Manila.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-one.
