Begun and held in Metro Manila, on Monday, the twenty-sixth
day of July, nineteen hundred and ninety-three
[REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7682]
AN ACT DECLARING MARCH NINE OF EVERY YEAR A NONWORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ABRA, TO BE KNOWN AS “ARYA ABRA DAY”
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled.
SECTION 1. The Philippine Legislature enacted on March 9 1917 Act No. 2683, which segregated Abra from Ilocos Sur and gave it full provincial status.
SEC. 2. March nine of every year is hereby declared a special nonworking public holiday in the Province of Abra, to be known as “Arya Abra Day.”
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on August 17, 1993 and November 25, 1993, respectively.
