PROCLAMATION NO. 755

DECLARING FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 1996 AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF MUNTINLUPA

WHEREAS, the City Charter of Muntinlupa (Republic Act 7926) was passed and approved by the Congress and signed into law by the President of the Republic of the Philippines on March 1, 1995 and subsequently ratified in a plebiscite held in Muntinlupa on May 9, 1995;

WHEREAS, the transformation and the birth of the new city speaks well of the good intention and dedicated leadership of the local officials for their constituents’ well-being and continuing quest for excellence in local governance;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of Muntinlupa City be given full opportunity to celebrate this event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27 of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, March 1, 1996 as a special day in the City of Muntinlupa.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 29th day of February in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Six.
