PROCLAMATION NO. 836
PROVIDING FOR THE DISPLAY OF THE NATIONAL FLAG OF THE PHILIPPINES AT HALF MAST ON THURSDAY, APRIL 28, 2005 IN MANILA, QUEZON CITY, THE PROVINCES OF AURORA AND QUEZON, AND IN SCHOOLS NAMED AFTER DOÑA AURORA ARAGON QUEZON ON THE OCCASION OF HER 56TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY AND THE TRANSFER OF HER REMAINS FROM CEMENTERIO DEL NORTE TO THE QUEZON MEMORIAL SHRINE
WHEREAS, Mrs. Aurora Aragon Quezon met her tragic death on April 28, 1949;
WHEREAS, the remains of Mrs. Aurora A. Quezon, now lying at Cementerio del Norte, needs to be transferred to the Quezon Memorial Circle, to allow her to lie in peace near her husband;
WHEREAS, displaying the national flag at half mast serves as a token of loving remembrance to Mrs. Aurora A. Quezon and as an expression of bereavement on the occasion of her 56th death anniversary and the transfer of her remains from the Cementerio Del Norte to the Quezon Memorial Shrine;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order that the national flag of the Philippines be displayed at half mast in Manila, Quezon City, the Provinces of Aurora and Quezon, and in schools named after Doña Aurora Aragon Quezon on Thursday, April 28, 2005 to commemorate the 56th death anniversary of Mrs. Aurora Aragon Quezon and to usher the transfer of her remains from the Cementerio Del Norte to the Quezon Memorial Shrine.
