This morning, at 10:00 a.m., President Benigno S. Aquino III received a courtesy call from the Papal Legate and the Pontifical Delegation to the 51st International Eucharistic Congress (IEC)
Held last week, from January 24-31, the 51st IEC is the second to be held in the Philippines, with the first one being hosted in Manila in 1937.
Among the members of the delegation were His Eminence Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, SDB, Papal Legate and Archbishop of Yangon; His Excellency Jose Palma, Archbishop of Cebu; His Excellency John Saw Yaw Han, Auxiliary Bishop of Yangon; Rev. Fr. Marvin Mejia, Secretary General, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines; Rev. Fr. Dominic Bar Bu, Secretary General of the Cardinal; and Rev. Msgr. Chibuike Onyeaghala, First Counsellor of the Apostolic Nunciature.
