MANILA, July 31 (PNA) — More than 200 persons were pre-emptively evacuated in Northern Samar due to the effects of Tropical Storm “Carina”, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDDRMC) said on Sunday.
NDRRMC said 44 families or 230 persons in the muncipalities of Mondragon and Pmabujan in Northern Samar were pre-emptively evacuated in five evacuation centers.

As of 4:00 AM Sunday, a total of 4,931 passengers, 679 rolling cargoes, 46 vessels and 34 motor bancas are stranded due to rough sea conditions brought by the tropical storm. (PNA) BNB/CLTC
